Home, unpacked (it always seems the clothes multiply from a trip?) – but Archer was glad to see us and I admit I was glad to see him!
So, to end this great road trip/anniversary post(s): Saturday evening was absolutely THE best – our EVOO Cooking Class. Bob had warned us ‘not to eat’ but we were in for trouble – the best kind of trouble! What I will start with is, if you DO come to Cannon Beach, Oregon – we highly recommend trying to get into one of their classes. CALL in advance and keep trying. Bob and Lenore were such great teachers (Bob did most of the cooking) and we loved hearing their stories as well – married 25 years. Not only do you learn as you watch them create these amazing menus (all fresh, organic & local); you will also learn great techniques, tidbits and fun useful tips to use when YOU create…
I will leave this post to the photos: (the chubby wubby’s have arrived…(and end chubbier):
Act 1: The BEST salmon I have had yet!
Act I (continued): Cheese Ravioli w/snow peas & capers & bacon in a decadent cream sauce
Act II: Pork (tender & juicy) with cabbage and pan seared apples
Finale: Chocolate cake with ganache, sugar pecans, vanilla ice cream w/coriander spice and a side of warmed ale. (The candle was for our anniversary)!
The menu was printed, but as you can see they added some extras…
Although I couldn’t eat most of mine, I enjoyed what I could (they offer to-go-boxes) but enjoyed taking LOTS of photos (not all shown here) and had the best time ever in a cooking class. This definitely made our anniversary one I will truly enjoy talking about!
