Just a quick post. While sitting on a five hour flight, I enjoyed the company of two other women. Yes, we started talking to one another… but it was fine because we actually wanted to.
I was in the middle seat, the woman to the right of me was a 65 year old Jewish woman with MS, and the woman to the left was a 43 year old former Classical Opera singer, Mormon woman. Of course, as you can read, we spoke about religion – a topic people frown upon.
This conversation was fine though because it started from our noticing that the lovely Jewish woman, Eleanor; had been reading a book on Spiritual Universal Happiness. Rebecca, the LDS woman asked Eleanor about it and mentioned some of the similarities of the book & the guidance of the Mormons.
None of this was taboo to any of us, because the thing that made us SIMILAR is that our ultimate ‘faith’ is to find happiness in our lives. We all agreed that WE make our own happiness, we want to believe in something or someone that gives us hope but that our happiness can only be based on what we do, how we act, and who we choose to be.
I wanted to share this because I don’t normal talk about religion myself, I’m definitely spiritual but I DO TRULY believe that I am the one that makes my happiness.
And on this plane ride, I found the happiness in meeting two amazing woman with some good (& bad times) in their lives, but I found two new ‘friends for the moment’ that gave this 52 1/2 year old spiritual woman a gift of more knowledge, understanding and some more happiness.
How fun is that to have the three of us from three different generations and the different beliefs, come together, hug upon our departure and feel good about ourselves and life!
Another Simple Romantic part of my life.
