Since my ‘body clock’ has been set for early, I had a hard time trying to sleep in. lol But also being alone today, I took the time to try and THINK. Read a little bit and DID just think…
But eventually my chubby butt decided the weather looked like it was ‘slightly sunny’ (here in Seattle you take those days during rainy season) so I put on the dreary grey sweatpants, sweatshirt, sneakers and a rain coat and went for a much needed walk. It DID feel great, even though my body was asking, “what the hell are you doing?” hee hee I went for at least a good 4.5 miles, heading around Finn Hill park and rain into a group of ‘senior walkers’ – where I was greeted with some nice smiles and friendly hellos! What a nice way to start my day.
After I got back, I noticed my rose bushes were getting leggy/spindle and decided to go ahead and trim them. Yes, for those gardeners, I’m sure I shouldn’t be trimming them just yet, but I hate that I have some very leggy ones that grow up under the pear tree! Major pain. Trimmed those, and then some other pesky trees, pulled some mulch away and nasty ivy vines then thought I was going to head back inside!
NOPE – the sun was still shining and I knew that my poor White Stallion needed to be washed. She had some grimy winter dirt and now some sand from when the kids had taken her to Cannon Beach. Well, thankfully the weather was accommodating and she got a nice new shine as well as vacuum and a little spritz of wax. Pretty girl again.
Now back into the house for another shower – oh wait, that’s right I started some laundry. Oh, and I really should be stretching after the walk & all that quick movements from cleaning the car… okay, so at least a mini workout (and lifting the DUST bunnies along with the free weights isn’t such a bad idea). LOL Let’s just say, Archer (the cat) was seriously trying to figure out what the hell I was doing!? He hasn’t seen me do this in so long that he thought my arm movements were a reason for him to jump up and bite them!
Shower done, but why do I still see sun? Thankful that the weather man made a mistake – maybe I should go ahead and sweep out the garage (pine needles). Done. Oh, noticed that big square picture that I thought I’d paint with chalkboard paint – might as well try it out… one coat done!
Okay now to take care of the whining cat (he wanted to be outside with me too, but that didn’t last too long before he tried to chase a squirrel). Might as well go ahead and feed myself too. Hmmm, now how to make a lower fat/healthier meal (again). Needed to use the last Sosio avocado and the Italian Turkey that I thawed out. Since it’s just a meal for ONE I used a smaller portion of the ground turkey. Although it has Italian seasoning, I still wanted to add some bell peppers & onions. So ‘sweat’ them with a little bit of olive oil and then browned the turkey. Also decided to add some of the delicious sun-dried tomatoes (since I can’t eat raw ones). Took the avocado and just mashed it up, adding some hot sauce and then spread it on some lightly toasted whole wheat 100 calorie tortillas. It was definitely tasty and a meal I’ll make again (for the family)!
NOW to sit down (and blog)… while I enjoy one of my favorite shows: Rehab Addict (I would love to work with her) – I love rehab, but this current show she is actually dumpster diving (she found some slate tile boxes & a fake brass light fixture that she repurposed)! That is SO me… (note the picture above was ‘donated’ to me when I went to buy some other items).
Thanks for reading! Love, Laura
