I hope that some of you have enjoyed (or will enjoy) a holiday event/party or get-together this year.
Tuesday evening I attended Michael’s (BF) work party and had a good time. I enjoyed laughing at his antics and admired him for creating a video for his colleagues to laugh at and enjoy. He created the video of bits from several different 80’s movies (mostly holiday related) and he and the two owners of his company played roles (along with the great video created by Chris). I admire him for wanting to make them laugh! And he did. Oh, I DID help him – securing the venue, hiring the caterer and creating his invitations as well as swag bags for the event. No, I wasn’t paid for my services but I enjoy what I do! (Yes, that’s my silly man below)
Yesterday (Wednesday) I went to our company’s EAC (employee appreciation committee)’s holiday luncheon. And yes, the Mean Girl’s once again alienated me and definitely reminded me that not only was I not heard, that when I do talk – I obviously have nothing (of interest to them) to say… but I think I also did that same banter of uninteresting topics to some of the other attendees? Oh well – what can I say? HA HA How about nothing silly girl… 🙂
Today I will try and finish up whatever small details need to be tasked for our company holiday party being held tomorrow (Friday) night. I’m excited for the event, it and Halloween are ones that I look forward to planning. My vision was executed by Kate (CEO’s event planner) who I’ve worked with (as well as last year) on this event. I did find the location, secured the band and finalized the caterer as well as creating the swag bags and will be the central planner for the evening.
I can only hope (once again) that some (if not most) of my colleagues will attend and will have a good time!
For my FB (colleagues) – thank you Erica, Carol, Amanda, Nancy, Summer, Kathy, Katie, Megan, Sherry, Laurie and Suzy, as well as past colleagues: Michael, Matt, John, Tim, Marc, Kerry, Colleen, Jacky and Roberta – I want to personally thank each of you for: putting up with me, for listening to my obviously boring conversations. I admire each of you and do consider you some of my mentors. Each of you has made my 4 years with our company a good one – both good & bad times and if this is my last event, I hope that you will help rally some of your own colleagues in your departments to come and enjoy themselves tomorrow evening.
Think of me as the Tattoo of our companies Fantasy Island. LOL I try to find the venue (that fits the theme) and the menu I’ve tried (as always) that will fit MOST of the dietary needs. The band is a fun group that I hope some of you will dance to – but if you don’t dance, I hope that some of their music will move you to smile! And know that although I don’t always say the smartest, best, interesting things – I DO work hard to try and make some piece of happiness for all of us! Because that IS what I enjoy doing, I love it when I see smiling faces and I hope that it’s one of the last/few things I can give you – to take home some memories. Step away from your own lives personal and professional stresses for part of your evening to enjoy – YOU! Each of you (and several others) needs the fun and happiness. YOU are what has made this company strive and YOU are what makes me have my purpose of creating fun events.
To all of you that read these or this post: Happy holidays to all – enjoy the party! Make/create your own party and finish out 2015 celebrating YOU and your life’s successes. I appreciate each of you and thank you tremendously!
