Hello friends! Tonight Michael and I tried our first meal from HomeChef.com – the meal delivery service. I wanted to try it because well I’ve gotten ‘burnt out’ (no pun intended) on some of the meals I had been making. Yes, I have a HUGE stack of recipe books and of course there are a million online options, but right now with us also doing the one car dance, I thought it would be fun to try this program.
Pretty self explanatory – you order some menu items on their website, you are given three meals each week – but you can choose either meals all day or just dinners (which is what I did). Just as I’d heard (apparently our local newscasters had tried this program to see if it was truly ‘worth the money’) and it is. You can chose the family plan or like us – for two people. Some of the items are large enough to share with at least three people (when we have Ethan).
Tonight’s option was the Steelhead Trout in Shallot-Butter Sauce with green beans and Roma Tomatoes and it was FANTASTIC! The only issue I had was with our cruddy rental home oven, it doesn’t regulate very well so the fish took a little bit longer as well as the green beans and tomatoes. But I loved having all the items in the box (minus the olive oil and kosher salt – which luckily I had) but it was so easy and actually for a weeknight meal, fairly fast to create.
So, I highly recommend – and I’ll keep you posted on the rest of the meals…
