Simple Definition of impulsive
: doing things or tending to do things suddenly and without careful thought : acting or tending to act on impulse
: done suddenly and without planning : resulting from a sudden impulse
Are YOU impulsive? Do you do things that others would say ‘that’s rather impulsive?” (but with the tone that sends chills up your back – knowing from INSTINCTS that it’s not a compliment they are giving you.) This definition is ME! But, there are also some rational reasons for some of my impulsiveness.
What am I referring to?
My latest purchase (yesterday, Saturday the 12th)! I bought another car… my rational reason… I replaced my lovely, sexy White Stallion! (aka, the car Michael pays for). And why? Because she was becoming a Diva!! SAD, but true. It wasn’t her fault though, it is a BMW defect! And she is going to be missed… 🙁 Only two years with my little girl, and boy did I have fun with her – road trip to California where she showed her ‘Stallion’ like efforts in ‘running fast’ and flying like the wind. The best part was being able to be TOPLESS (teehee) and enjoy the sun (even times in Seattle).
But what caused my IMPULSIVE purchase and change? Her ‘shoes’ – Ms. Thang went through THREE sets of rims and TWO tire changes within the short almost 2 years that I got her! First change was because when I got her, the original owner had 19″ rims on her (and they were gold metallic) aka, ghetto girl? HA HA Within the first few months of driving around our lovely (always in construction) city of Seattle, I got four cracks in the rims! Damn it! So off she goes to BMW only to find that they don’t have 19″ replacement rims, and the original rims are on back-order (at that time I wasn’t aware of the lawsuit against BMW for just that – cracked rims)! So I purchased a new set from a different dealer and decided to get the stock size (rather than the larger 19″ low profile). Thus the new tires. WELL… not too much longer after, it happens again! Seriously? Those sets get welded (repaired) and then BMW informs me they have one set, so now PRINCESS (I say with not a good tone) wears two different ‘shoes’ (rims). One BMW logo and one ghetto girl version. They ‘ordered’ my other BMW set, but it would take awhile (to this day they are still on B.O.)… obviously because they ‘didn’t tell me’ that the rims had been manufactured in China with a cheap alloy.
Friday, November 11th, Michael was going to take Ms. Diva to work – he didn’t make it out of the garage – she had another flat!! Oh, but it’s on the BMW rims… hmmmm… what do you think?? Cracked rims!! WTF, WTH, MF bombs… (sorry but I used every expletive I could at that moment)! I wasn’t mad at my poor little girl, I was/AM mad at BMW… and since I’m unemployed, I can’t afford to keep paying for her shoe habit… and I’ve lost my ‘luster’ for BMW and their poor quality/service! Yes, my brother can laugh – he warned me: Bitch, Moan & Whine! HAHA
Off to Toyota
I needed to find a less high-maintenance vehicle… but you know me (okay some of you do)… I don’t like shopping for cars (my dad was a used car salesman, who also gave me (his own daughter) a lemon (lol) and I also just HATE/LOATHE the sleaziness)… UGH. Luckily, Shehann, whom we met previously when Michael was looking at HIS replacement for Bigga Bigga (our now also previous BMW X5), I liked the ‘kid’ (lol), so I took my White Stallion to him to find MY replacement.
Having previously seen the FJ5 Cruiser, I wanted to test drive THAT and see what I thought. Yes, what a big difference – my sexy, white convertible to THIS? HAHA
My sister seemed to think that I bought this to ‘replace Michael’s car’ but NOPE, I decided that it was going to be either something that I didn’t have to worry as much about, that I could still HAUL my ‘other impulsive’ purchases in and that was going to be different!! And it is! Taller, bigger, MEATY tires and yes, I have to ‘readjust’ my driving but I will hopefully feel a lot safer and not have to drive ‘tender footed’ around potholes, speed bumps, construction, etc… I do miss Ms. Stallion but I AM a PNW woman now and I’m pretty certain I will be adding ‘bling’ to this one (as in chrome cattle guard), side bar step, and top lights for those off-road road trips! HA HA
What do you think? Silly midlife madness? Impulsive madness…
Tell me what IMPULSIVE (no regrets) YOU’VE made/done!!
