I meant to post about the oh-so wonderful vacation/birthday that Michael gave me this year – to Walla Walla, WA. LOL If you look that up, you would laugh too.
But the reality is that Michael spent the time researching places that he wanted to take me to – using Rachel Ashwell’s The Prairie as his ‘guide’. Having talked so highly of it following my trip back home to Texas (which to be honest didn’t turn out as planned) (as far as family went) – BUT, I talked so much of my love, affection and desire of The Prairie. And because he IS such an amazing boyfriend, he wanted to replicate it for me (without having me go there).
Luckily his colleague had been married at a winery in Walla Walla and ironically had stayed at Abeja Inn. Well ladies and gentlemen, Abeja was my ‘semi-local’ Prairie. It’s a beautiful farm/winery with the cutest little cottages/bed and breakfast that captured my hearts desire. THIS (photo below) is our little cottage – Summer Kitchen where we stayed! I certainly didn’t want to leave.
Alas, we did (after Labor Day weekend). But only because I caught a flight to Phoenix, AZ immediately after. To go take a road trip with my son and his lovely girlfriend. Why? To bring him home, and to introduce her to her new home! Happy Mom!
I got to Phoenix on June 1st and spent NO time in renting an SUV and immediately getting them loaded up and we took off. I didn’t want to go ‘reminisce’ at my old home, I was happy to get him and her OUT of that place. No offense to Phoenix, but those memories I’d like to keep in the past.
Poor kids, I pushed them as the three of us drove in a caravan toward Seattle. I did ‘let them sleep’ (lol) but I wanted to get back home. This wasn’t one of THOSE fun road trips – this was a mission. And now I can happily say that the both of them are staying with us (although they are slightly uncomfortable), I am THRILLED they are here. Both have amazed me at how quickly they also managed to get employed! And now I will ‘use’ them to help watch Archer while Michael, E and I jet off to Denmark/Russia/Finland this coming weekend.
Did I mention that Archer (my supposed to be) loyal cat has sensed that Bryan is ‘my’ son and is now his favorite!? Hmmm… (lol). Archer even cuddles on Bryan’s should like he does mine (and no one else). I love it!
Oh, and lastly – Michael and I helped host my daughter’s baby shower recently. I’m so excited to come home and wait (impatiently) for the arrival of my first grand child (a girl)!
Thanks for reading (to my few followers). BTW, I’m mentally exhausted (and physically), little bouts of depression periodically (mainly because I still want to please them all), but a happy woman!
With SINCEREST devotion and love,
