As most of you have read, I’m a Walmart girl – I like a good discount! So lately I’ve been back and forth to Walmart as I’ve been working on some of my props/projects. Besides the little things I can grab at the Dollar Stores, I LOVE that Walmart (some stores) carry fabric by the yard.
The latest scores has been tulle – in almost every color! Stephanie (Walmart employee at the Renton store) told me that they have ‘tons’ of bolts in the back and she let me know that they would be marking some down (to clear the inventory out for new colors) – but it still included my basic needs (lol) of BLACK (Halloween) and white (Ice Queen) and I also went ahead and grabbed some of the pretty pastels. Nope, didn’t NEED them, but at 97 cents a yard, I couldn’t pass them up!
I DO wish that they carried more craft supplies, but I will tell you that the items they carry are between 25-65 cents cheaper then the big craft store (you know which one that is)! I grabbed all of the black felt squares they had (for the background filler on the Maleficent wings). And thankfully for the foam shapes (needed triangles to TRY and create horns).
And the best items were the Loctite spray adhesive and the Great Stuff foam filler – which I grabbed from the automotive department (the adhesive bottles sizes are larger then in the craft section) and the foam filler I use for the faux trees and for walls/decor.
Of course, Walmart has great prices on all of the school supplies (I did grab a couple of backpacks) because I KNOW that Ethan will inevitably lose one again (most kids do) during the school year.
I’m certain I will be back to Walmart for more items, and for more tchotchkes and of course all my basic home supplies.
Thanks for letting me share.
