I love giving recommendations (usually foodie, travels and DIY products) but this time I wanted to share something more personal – skin care. Skin care is important to me, but I also have to admit that I am one to use just a cleanser and definitely moisturizer. I’ve been a long time user of Olay products and yes, have gone through a few other product lines (recommendations from my sisters), but now as I’ve come into my midlife, I’ve certainly noticed the age spots, the wrinkles, the sagging jowels and the very dark circles.
Since my daughter started at a new salon (Flourish Salon in West Seattle), she called me and asked if I’d be interested in having a facial (at the family discount rate – teehee). One of the skincare facialist had just received her license and needed new clients.
Haley (my facialist) introduced me to their product line: Eminence Organic Skin Care. I loved getting the facial (and upper body massage) – THAT was a bonus for me – apparently I’ve been keeping stress in my shoulders and neck (again) and she managed to make me melt…. ahhh.
She used the Eminence Age Corrective Starter Set line on me and added a few other of their specialty products. The Monoi Exfoliating Cleanser you use on damp skin and the scent is (as Haley told me) an exotic monoi (this is the oil/scent that comes from soaking the petals of a Tahitian gardenia in coconut oil). It’s a light fragrance, but I enjoyed it. Then she applied the Bamboo Masque. This product you apply to your neck and décolleté as well (as we get older this is VERY important, the neck and chest do show signs of aging that most women forget about – as well as our hands). She applied the Bamboo Firming Fluid (natural Retinol Alternative), I noticed my skin did feel ‘lifted’ and then she put the Neroli Eye Serum. I noticed the affect of that (after I got up and looked in the mirror of my car). Lastly was the Coconut Moisturizer, as Haley said (since I’d be in Hot-Atlanta) that I could add a few drops of water for lighter hydration.
I have to share, just after I left (with my cute little Age Corrective Starter Kit) (shown below), I went home and Michael snagged me to help work on his Rpod project (in the heat of the day). After getting sweaty and dirty, when I reached up to wipe the sweat from my brow, I was actually surprised to feel how soft my skin still felt. And even after I showered (washed my face with just water) my skin still felt smooth and supple. I waited until later that evening to use the starter kit.
The line can be found on Amazon (link above), I did manage to purchase the Age Corrective Starter Set (also because I knew I’d need it for the trip to Atlanta) which also gave me a good chance to try the product (in that heat). And the size is perfect for traveling (along with the cute bag). It was/IS amazing! Get one of the little kits like I did and you’ll see, it really doesn’t take much and silly old me enjoys touching my own cheeks now! teehee
I highly recommend Eminence Organic Skin Care AND if you are in the Seattle area, please DO go to my daughter’s salon and get a facial with Haley James at Flourish Salon: 5962 Fauntleroy Way SW – Seattle, WA 98136. And tell them I sent you!
