Yesterday I went to the Memorial Service for my friend/former colleague – Tom. Sadly, we lost Tom in early December, but he had no immediate family here so Kathy (a VERY sweet colleague) positioned herself to be his advocate. She handled some of the personal tasks of trying to reach out to his family who apparently had distanced themselves from Tom. But Kathy was able to facilitate his cremation and getting his burial in the Tahoma National Cemetery since he had been in the military. During the ceremony, we were blessed by having a little reprieve from the rain (literally sunlight peaked through the clouds) – which made me feel like it was TOM smiling! I was happy to see my former coworkers (at least in sharing our love for Tom) and was extremely thankful for Kathy sending me the information so I could attend. Tom was what I like to refer to as Radar (from the TV show – M.A.S.H.) – the kind of guy you wouldn’t suspect would know it all, but definitely did! He was such a sweetheart to me and I missed him everyday, that even when they laid me off, it actually became a little bit of a ‘blessing’ – since the company didn’t FEEL the same to me without seeing him…

My other thoughts are still in being THANKFUL for Michael – his continued support, love and his happiness for me, that I hope that I can pass that same feelings on to my former coworkers as well! There are several of you that I miss, and sincerely wish you ALL happiness too. (Goes for the upcoming Valentines Day) – which isn’t always about LOVE as a couple, it’s just being loving/compassionate towards others (in MY book at least)!
So I’ll go finish watching my latest TED Talk series on “How to Find Work You Love” as well as my HAPPINESS book and I send each of my readers here a VERY HAPPY THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY!
