Tuesday I went in to Seattle to do a little ‘office’ searching for Michael and managed to also find a new store (now in an old familiar place – the previous Paper Store warehouse) on 1st Avenue. The ‘new’ antique store is Big Daddy’s – which has a HUGE store in Los Angeles and San Francisco (which I’ve only been PAST) not in (yet). Anyways – this store is fabulous and also a great venue place for events!
I then headed over to Pacific Galleries – another great place for antiques – loved the tags from this store, but really loved the skull head light (which I own the vodka bottle, so did manage to buy the light bulb to recreate my own) – also cheaper version. Although their ‘helmet’ plug is WAY cooler than what I will end up with…
Wednesday & Thursday I worked on (finally) adding some Valentines decor to the house (since can’t decorate at the office anymore)… 🙁 it’s a good thing Michael ‘tolerates’ my constantly rotating decor in the house. (Did I mention that a sweet former BF tagged me on FB – Graydon. Totally loved my Canuck – although I screwed that up by not being my ‘true self’ (TMI). I ran in to him once, a year or so after we broke up, here at Pacific Gallery, so it was rather ironic – FB & my recent visit. He is so much fun and he also was such a sweetie to allow me to MAKEOVER his own home. Just hope HE is at least using his painting room and still has the cozy couch blanket I made him buy? LOL Hugs dear friend!) Back to the touches of pinks/reds – I tried my hand at making some tulle pom poms besides the paper ones.
I kept the cute bears up too… oh and the dried roses, those were from Christmas. I had TONS of them & just wanted to see how they’d turn out just letting dry upside down. Kinda cool ???
Friday night Michael & I had date night – headed into Seattle to listen to live music. We went to Highway 99 (again) and they had a great Mardi Gras band (for Mardi Gras celebration) called Curley Taylor, they are from Lafayette, Louisiana and play great Zydeco-music.
Saturday we went grocery shopping, walking around neighborhood & settled in for 4 very funny Netflix episodes of Chelsea Handler Does show – which I highly recommend – very funny!!
Sunday we took advantage of the clear (but quite cold) weather to go for another walk, but this time over to Ballard. I wanted to see what new shops have moved in (note, I also have a avid interest in SIGNAGE – as you can tell by the photos) and remembered that I wanted to try the Pie Bar (great Yelp & other reviews). It definitely is a MUST if you like pies & beer/booze. Michael tried both the Steak & Ale and Mama’s Sausage pies. I got the Apple Pie with my Coffee B-52. Such a cute place and the young lady behind the counter was so nice!
Here’s some of the cute signs and other shops…
After we even managed to circle around to Pike Place so I could DEFINITELY pick up some more Sosio’s Produce avocados (which I made us the Baked Egg Avocado dish (again) – Michael loved it and this time we did add the hot sauce, which was perfect. But we ate it with warm corn tortillas. Good combination.
We stopped by University Village also (since I felt like I needed MORE walking from our Pies and because it was still so pretty out. Actually found some cool things to photograph as well…
Lastly, as we headed back home, we had a beautiful sunset with some beautiful pink, blue, golden lights that I couldn’t resist having Michael help me photograph from Kirkland Park. I took the camera back long enough to capture HIM using his phone for another panoramic.
