The Root Guide
In balance: Feeling safe, secure, and provided for. Possessing a strong sense of grounding.
Imbalanced: Joint pain or tightness (especially in the hips or knees); carrying weight in the hips or thighs; lower back pain; swollen feet; feelings of insecurity, not being safe, and unmet basic needs. A flighty personality that has a difficult time staying in one place, situation, or relationship for a long amount of time.
Supportive foods: Bright red foods from the earth (check sugar content if appropriate), including red apple and cranberry, foods with roots such as radishes, red potatoes, beets; red beans and lentils. Red fruits, including watermelon, pomegranate, cherries, all red berries; food grown with deep tree roots or on a vine. Red herbal teas such as rooibos or hibiscus. Harvest grains and other deeply rooted grains and proteins. Earthly mineral stews and broths.
Beneficial practices: Grounding down to earth by walking barefoot on soil, sand, or grass; doing strong, grounded yoga poses, such as tree and mountain. Eating rooted vegetables with an emphasis on those that are red or red-orange in color. Reestablishing roots by learning to forgive those mistakes or transgressions committed by caregivers in early childhood and learning to provide those things that instill a feeling of safety, security, and basic needs being met on a daily basis. Taking ownership of the old story.

The Sacral Guide
In balance: Sense of other and self as even; healthy relationships; feelings or disposition of pleasure and joy; focus on internal as well as external to learn the balance of both; harmony, lack of addictions; balanced, healthy hormones and reproductive system; creatively alive. Creating Abundance.
Imbalanced: Addictions, overemphasis on sexuality and self-pleasure, need to fit into a specific image, hormone imbalance and infertility issues, fighting the natural aging process, lack of self-acceptance, externally motivated, creatively stifled. Higher craving for external stimulus.
Supportive foods: Eating what the body requires for optimal health and sustenance including earth and trace minerals; foods with a high water element in them; orange foods like cumin, turmeric, ginger, rooted foods with deep orange, and spices and teas that soothe elimination and balance hormones (calming). Carrots, peppers, squashes, oranges, tangerines. Foods with vitamins C, B, and A.
Beneficial practices: Self-affirmation, listening to what your body tells you it needs. Yoga for balance. Walking, swimming, slow hikes. Journaling feelings of desires, destiny manifesting, and dreams. Intimate touch.

The Gut (Solar Plexus) Guide
In balance: Feeling worthy of all things that offer progress, warmth, and comfort; good at setting and keeping boundaries; feeling of self-worth; balanced power that comes from within; healthy digestive tract; trusted sleeping patterns; balanced cortisol and insulin levels; ability to tune in to gut feelings. Trust in yourself. Intimacy.
Imbalanced: Lack of self-worth; feeling powerless; others taking advantage of your time, personal space, and divine gifts; unhealthy digestive and sleep patterns; feeling stress in the nervous system, adrenal fatigue; falling into outmoded gender patterns that do not work for you; cannot easily distribute power; poor listening habits. Acidic body. Lack of giving eye contact.
Supportive foods: Digestive-friendly foods, such as kefir, yogurt, oat bran, cinnamon. Lemon, yellow vegetables, and healthy fats and oils. In balance: Loving love. Not afraid of love. Open. Calm. Able to communicate with others intuitively through the heart. Ability to forgive, understanding that we are all one. Letting go to be present or here now.
Imbalanced: Closed heart, feelings of isolation, physical heart or circulation issues. Fear-induced body responses. Panic. Tension in the chest. Shortness of breath.
Supportive foods: Vibrant green nutrient-rich vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, green water-based alkalizing fruits and vegetables (like limes, green apples, zucchinis, and celery), clear water, and healthy fats. Raw nuts. Decreased dairy. More avocados. Green beans, lima beans, mung beans. Leafy vegetables. Water.
Beneficial practices: Deep breath to clear the lungs, shoulders drawn back and down to open the heart, yogic heart and chest openers and stretches, exercises (such as rebounding) that stimulate the limbic system. Long, slow walks. Hikes. Swimming. Shoulder and neck massage. Warm baths.

The Throat Guide
In balance: Healthy glands and thyroid, ability to speak the truth, and to speak in a succinct manner. Brevity with warmth. Fresh ideas.
Imbalanced: Gland and thyroid issues, askew hormonal regulation, inability to speak up, skirting around the truth.
Supportive foods: Clear nutritional whole foods from the earth with air and water elements and, very important, listening to what your body needs at any time and giving it precisely that. Blueberries. Clear liquids or broths. Herbal teas. Alkaline or mineral water.
Beneficial practices: Speaking truthfully and with brevity. Deep diaphragmatic breath, rest, meditation, getting things off of your chest. Being in or near the water. Walking outside under the big sky and breathing in fresh air. Visualizing speaking your truth to a loved one, friend, or authority figure. Being brave. Images or pictures of favorite bodies of water. Making sounds of soothing wind.

The Third Eye Guide
In balance: Being able to connect with information that comes from inside or outside of us; a sense of oneness with both humankind and the universe; a feeling of the four aspects of being humming along in precision. Increased synchronicity and ease. Psychic ability. Hearing and seeing more than meets the eyes. Premonitions. Factual visions.
Imbalanced: Using intuition for personal benefit to the detriment of others, neurosis, tension headaches, false god or martyr confusion. Neurosis.
Supportive foods: Water; raw nuts especially walnuts; sprouted nuts especially almonds; metal detoxers from the ground, such as harvest grains and mushrooms; purple and purple-red fruits (in small amounts), such as goji berries and acai; plums; eggplant; cruciferous vegetables especially broccoli; clean organic meats; freshwater fish. Beneficial practices: Meditation; yoga or long stretches; simple repetitive movements such as hiking, swimming, or tai chi; visiting majestic landscapes that put the greater picture into perspective.

In balance: Vibrant and smoothly running physical form; the “it” factor; calm, centered thoughts and heart rate; a glow; feeling of support; ability to tap into a higher intelligence and to more easily manifest those things we need in life.
Imbalanced: Spacy thoughts or neuroses, migraines, numbing in nerves and stiff joints, feeling of being alone and unsupported in the world, delusions of grandeur.
Supportive foods: Water, purified or salt, absorbed through the skin or top of head/scalp; cleansing herbs; aloe vera; various seeds like chia and sesame; bone and vegetable broths; essential oils (topical) for balance or unity.
