Summer in Seattle has been HOT (not that we haven’t had hot ones before), but we certainly have seemed to have some weird weather lately. The start of summer had us with moments of odd cooler spells, a few little showers and also some really frickin’ hot times (all at the same time).
So as we are ending July, I’m sitting writing and looking through the window of my craft room noticing there is a bit of cloud coverage outside. Still a bit warm and I think it will clear off and then get hot (again) and muggy. Yes, that doesn’t seem hot to lots of you, but bear in mind that MOST of Seattle homes are NOT air conditioned. LUCKILY this rental home IS! One of the few GOOD things about this house (oh, but you can’t feel the AC upstairs because crappy venting/insulation). HA HA But happy to have it when we need it!
My summer, so far has been spending time with Ethan (really spending more time with him, since I’m not working) and it helps Michael too. It’s a good thing, gives US time to really talk (when I pull him away from the computer games) and sharing some laughs.
Also enjoying working on some craft projects – looking forward to next week’s Haven Conference. I signed Monette and I up for this – takes place in Atlanta, Georgia (not looking forward to THAT heat though) but definitely looking forward to learning some new things and seeing/meeting some of these amazing DIY bloggers too.
(Here’s a few of my projects: refinishing an old hutch and of course – Halloween props)
Having just had a ‘moment’ of Southern time with my niece, Aunt and cousin this month I’m relishing in my southern roots so even heading to Atlanta will rekindle that! I realized that from our Texas trip. Miss that southern sass as well as the southern hospitality.
Until then, hope everyone is enjoying their summer and having some fun?!
Y’all come back now ~
